🌸 Lila en Español | A Lavender Meadow for Spanish-Speaking Families

Some stories begin with an idea.

Others begin with something you wish you had when you were little.

For me, Lila has always been a little bit of both.

Growing up in the Caribbean, I don't remember having many children's stories that talked about what it meant to feel calm. We had stories that entertained us and stories that taught us lessons, but I don't remember many that gave children permission to slow down, notice what they were feeling, connect with nature, and discover simple ways to find their way back to calm.

As an adult, I began to understand just how valuable those little lessons can be.

That understanding eventually became part of the heart behind Lila and the Lavender Meadow.

And now, Lila's meadow is growing.

Making Lila available in Spanish was important to me because meaningful stories should be able to reach children in the languages that are part of their homes, families, and communities.

I have Spanish-speaking friends and people I consider family, and through conversations over the years, I've heard how helpful resources like these can be for families.

For bilingual children especially, there is something meaningful about being able to experience a familiar story in another language they hear, speak, or are learning.

That is why creating Lila en Español felt like a natural next step.

A Story About More Than Being Calm

Lila's story isn't about telling children that they should never have big feelings.

Children get frustrated. They worry. They become overwhelmed. They have moments when the world simply feels like too much.

The goal is to gently show them that there are things they can do in those moments.

They can pause.

They can breathe.

They can notice the world around them.

They can spend time in nature.

They can give themselves a moment before trying again.

These are small ideas, but they can become meaningful tools as children begin learning how to understand and regulate their emotions.

And sometimes a little bunny wandering through a lavender meadow is a gentle way to begin that conversation.

Stories, Creativity and Keepsakes

The Colección en Español allows families to experience more of Lila's world in Spanish through stories, creative activities, and meaningful keepsakes.

The intention is not simply to translate words from one language into another.

It is to preserve the feeling behind them.

The quiet meadow.

The flowers.

The friendships.

The reminders of safety and calm.

The invitation to slow down and reconnect with the natural world.

Whether a child speaks Spanish at home, is growing up bilingual, is learning Spanish, or has family members who would love to share the story with them in Spanish, there is now another way to step into Lila's meadow.

One of the simplest messages in Lila's world is also one of the most important:

Estoy a salvo. Estoy en calma.

I am safe. I am calm.

Simple words can become little anchors.

A phrase repeated before bedtime, during a difficult moment, while coloring, or while sitting quietly can become something familiar that a child remembers when they need it.

That is part of why Lila's world has grown beyond the original story. Books, coloring, keepsakes, and gentle reminders can each create another opportunity for a child and the grown-ups who love them to practice these ideas together.

The Meadow Is Growing 🌸

Lila began in one little lavender meadow, but I've always hoped her world could reach children and families in many different places.

Creating the Spanish collection is one more step toward that.

Not because every family looks the same.

Not because every child experiences emotions in the same way.

But because every child deserves gentle reminders that their feelings matter, that nature can be a place of connection, and that sometimes it is okay to simply stop, breathe, and take their time.
